BaseX 7.3: unexpected Stack Overflow

Dear all, I have been playing with the following toy implementation of a super-simple associative map (it's mainly an exercise in demonstrating the use of h-o functions in XQuery 3.0): > declare namespace map = "http://db.inf.uni-tuebingen.de/map"; > > declare function map:entry($map, $k, $v) { > function($x) { if ($x eq $k) then $v else $map($x) } > }; > > declare function map:empty() > { > function($x) { () } > }; > > > let $map := map:empty(), > $map1 := map:entry($map, 1, ("one", "eins", "uno")), > $map2 := map:entry($map1, 2, ("two", "zwei", "due")) > return $map2(1) The execution of this script with BaseX 7.3 unexpectedly yields Stack Overflow: circular variable declaration? Note that replacing $map2(1) by $map1(1) in the last line returns the expected result ("one", "eins", "uno"). I'd be grateful for any comment/insight. REST "directory" listing

Hi @all, since BaseX 7.3 it seems there ist no more resource listing of sub paths of a database http://localhost:8984/rest/factbook/tmp [1] as example won't work There will be an error like Name 'factbook/tmp' is invalid. Is BaseX suitable for storing XML files that follow different schemas ?

Hello BaseX list, After looking at the BaseX website and XML databases in general I would like to know if BaseX would be suitable for the following application. I would like to store a relatively large amount of XML files (couple of hundreds) that contain metadata information that is compliant with various standard metadata schemas (Dublincore, ISO, INSPIRE, etc...). Once stored in one (or several - 1 per schema type?) BaseX database(s) I would like to be able to: - search these XML files accross schemas and namespaces to perform general keyword searches - search for specific information within a known schema and namespace - return query results in an HTML format to display directly on a web page I would like to know if BaseX would be suitable for such application and how flexible BaseX is in storing XML files compliant with different schemas and containing several namespaces. If suitable, what would be the best practice for storing the different XML files? Should all the XML files that follow a same schema be stored in the same database (for faster indexing, easier searching?) or I can I use a single database to store all XML files regardless of the fact that they follow different XSD schemas ? Hi, Following the http://docs.basex.org/wiki/XSLT_Module I'm launching basex as follows java -classpath /mnt/xslt_volume/i4EnrichV7/resources/libs/saxon9he.jar -jar /mnt/xslt_volume/i4EnrichV7/resources/libs/BaseX73.jar I get an error thought when executing which makes me think I have not convinced basex that saxon is there to use... Error: Stopped at line 14, column 48 in /mnt/xslt_volume/i4EnrichV7/analysis/xquery/AggregateSectionsTitleNormalized.xq: [XPST0017] Unknown function 'current-grouping-key(...)'. The future of db:create

I saw there was briefly 7.4 build with a db:create function and then this functionality was removed. Is this likely to come back for the 7.5 release? It would seem if HTTPLOCAL [1] is in use then the options for database management are somewhat limited? xquery grouping

Hi Basex, I have written a query on an xml file which contains 13000 nodes ,query does some grouping action on that xml,when I run that query it is taking huge amount of memory and also processing time. Thanks & Regards Sateesh.A

Unable To Query XML document with Namespace Declarations

Hi All, I am trying to query an XML document which has some namespace declarations. But, unfortunately the query is not giving any result. When I try to execute the same query after removing the namespace declaration, everything works fine. Is there any way to query the document with namespace declaration? I am attaching the XML document for your reference. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ramesh

can restxq add a document to the db and return an http response?

Hi, Is it possible with restxq to add a document to a db? And if so, to also return an http response?
