If i have a dataset that is 1mb, what kind of computer is required to run the basex server? How about 1gb? I feel like the basex server cannot handle very frequent database query.

For db instances taking several gigabytes, you should start thinking about better hardware. For smaller instances, commodity hardware is sufficient in most cases.
