You can't include an empty sequence in a sequence. As a result, fn:apply doesnt work reliably if you use sequences -- you can get some really unexpected effects, e.g. if a function call returns (). fn:apply(myfunc#6, (a(), b(), c(), d(), e(), f())) would not be type-safe: if c() returned (), you'd pass only 5 arguments to myfunc().
