Dear Peter,
thanks again for your request. We have had a closer look on our provided WAR file, and the two prominent issues [1] have now be fixed. You are invited to check out the latest stable snapshot [2], and give us feedback if the issues have also been resolved for your Tomcat instance.
By default, the web archive should now use the servlet-specific context root path to store BaseX configuration files and databases. We have also added some additional options and documentation in the included web.xml file, which you can edit to adapt the web archive to your individual needs.
Christian

Hello
I am having the same problems with the WAR version of 7.1.1 as described for 7.0 earlier { https://mailman.uni-konstanz.de/pipermail/basex-talk/2011-October/0020 28.html }
There is duplication of the servlet.jar that prevents it from starting. Then after deletion of the servlet.jar, there are problems with permissions (I don't know the reason for this)
I would appreciate help in getting the WAR version working both with Tomcat and with Oxygen. Can anyone provide details of how to remedy the situation with BaseX711.war and also an 'idiots guide' on how to sort out permissions, connect Oxygen to the database, and access via webDAV and rest interfaces.?
Many thanks
Peter
