Hi Chad,
thanks for your request. We're still evaluating what to do with the sources; first of all, we'll further work on the underlying framework to make it more generic.
Best, Christian

Hey Christian-
Could you make the source available for the search in the examples wiki or in CVS? Perfect!
Thx/chad

Gerrit, helpful hints!
The first hit was discarded due to a simple bug in my XQuery statement (…position() = $s + 1…). Apart from that, I have added the total number of hits to the output, and further improved the performance.

Dear Christian,
Works mostly well, as I would have expected with such a powerful system in the background ;-)
But: I tried a couple of queries (10 or so), and I found two documents
that
weren't retrieved when searching for words that they contain:
https://mailman.uni-konstanz.de/pipermail/basex-talk/2011-January/001128.htm l
was returned when I was looking for 'restore' was not returned when I was looking for 'hyphens' or 'hyphen'
https://mailman.uni-konstanz.de/pipermail/basex-talk/2011-January/001081.htm l
was returned when I was looking for 'infrastructure' was not returned when I was looking for 'json'
Maybe you can analyze this.

Dear all,
as has been discussed some days ago, the search for postings in our mailing lists is a tedious job: Mailman does not offer any search features, and the search engines seem to be too phlegmatic to browse the archives more frequently. To fix this, I've created the following page…
http://basex.org/open-source/search/
…which allows you to search through all contents of our mailing lists. Full-text indexing, searching and result creation is all done by the BaseX engine, and the database and index is updated every hour.
