I just realized that BaseX provides some basic information directly on its website : http://basex.org/services/support/. Thats just fine at present time, the important point for me is to be sure that BaseX can, if needed, enter in a contract based tech support. I will re-open this thread, or ask for direct contact, as soon as I will have more precise needs or questions.

Cheers

True; the license gives you all righs to ship BaseX in any free or
commercial product, as long as the authors are mentioned in the
copyright.

Just a quick answer: BSD is currently the only license we are
offering. Some of our customers take advantage of our technical
support when developing commercial systems with BaseX, or they attend
trainings (usually 1-3 days) to learn the nuts & bolts of our
technology. Due to limited time, documentation on our professional
services are quite limited, but we are working on a relaunch of the
commercial section (to appear on htttp://basex.io), which may provide
some more information.

It may well be that you have some more questions, which are welcome to
ask (either directly or on this list).
