Hi Johan,
I just bumped the BaseX package to 7.7 and sent a [pull-request]. I cannot give any timeline on it being merged though.
I put some effort on having BaseX "latest" release in there, but they want it build from git, which would require much effort in modifying the perl build scripts (or getting rid of them).
