Hi Christian, LOL - of course it works! The manual had the clue: "Local options have to be at the end of .basex file.³

MIXUPDATES was not the last option I set in .basex Š That was the error.

BTW: inspect:context() will not list updating functions unless MIXUPDATES is set - is that intentional?
