From the performance perspective in a Java application, it it better to go straight to the BaseX database or use a client/server approach (localhost). I would assume direct access should perform better but there might but cases where a server has the advantage (caching, multiple contexts, etc.) Would welcome your comments or experiences on this. many thanks *P
