Howdy,
Just upgraded to the latest Base-x v6.6.1 and the create command no longer accepts "fs" as one of the types. I've been using DeepFS and so this is a bit of an issue. :-)
Note also that "mab" is listed in the auto-complete list but is also excluded.
Thanks, John
Hi John,
glad to hear you made use of the 'create fs' command. We are currently in an overhaul of the DeepFS integration and things are not completely settled right now. So far, we did not receive a lot of feedback from people using DeepFS, so we thought about splitting it into a separate package to reduce LoC in BaseX core. However, this is not set in stone. Would you be so kind to give us a clue in what context DeepFS has been useful for you? Did you also use the metadata extractors?
Thanks, Alex

Alex: Sorry for the late feedback on this one. I regularly use DeepFS to produce snapshots of users' file systems content and track changes over time. I would be fine in having it as a separate package (either way would work for me). Not using the metadata extractor as I'm focused on different file types but I can see their usefulness. best Pascal

Hello Pascal,
may I ask what kind of changes you want to track or more precisely which questions you try to answer? I'm working on a different project and focus on tracking or determining changes between different revisions of hierarichal tree data (using the example of (shreddered) XML) and to visualize them. Since I'm doing it as part of my Master project/Thesis I'm currently "collecting" real world examples and questions which hopefully can be answered through the computation and visualization of the changes ;-)
regards, Johannes

A little complement to Alex' mail: the "mab" parser (which is used for importing library data) will also be rewritten and offered as an importer (similar to csv, text, and html).
