I have fairly big set of webservice (WSDL+XSD). I'm considering switch from eXist to BaseX but when I'm trying to create database with initial import of the set but it stops after few elements. Limit of 256 namespaces is real shortcoming.

thanks for your e-mail. As you already observed, the namespace limit is currently fixed to 256. As the limitation has already been addressed by other users, we will probably extend it to at least 2<16 entries in the next major release. Out of interest: do you know the approximate number of namespaces you are dealing with?

I'm not sure how to count number of namespaces (how it is treated by BaseX). Each XSD and WSLD has its own namespace - currently there is 1103 of both. There is also several other namespaces with RDF among them. Number of 2^16 looks enough. When can we expect next major release with this extension?

We'll probably align the update of the database layout with the switch to mvcc [1]; as this is a larger issue I guess this won't happen before summer 2012.
