BaseX freezes, no error message on webpage or terminal

Hi, Setup: http server 7.6. Path to .dtd is in the form http:.../rest/path/mydtd.dtd. Test #1. I call the function that contains dtd:validate from a function. It works. Test #2. I call the function that contains dtd:validate from another function. It freezes. The only different I see is that the 2nd function is an updating function, so I am thinking deadlock. However, the function doesn't update the same DB that holds the file to validate or the .dtd file. How do I find out if this is a dead lock situation? And what would be my options to get out of it since I am not updating the same DB from which I read the content file or the .dtd file? Is there anyway to collect more information from the server to confirm the deadlock theory? The catch is not returning anything about being locked out either. The process doesn't seem to get pass the validate:dtd line in the try... it never makes it into the catch. Efficiencies for batching

Hi, Currently when I need to batch a database for processing I do something like this: for $record at $p in $recordSet where ($p ge $start) and ($p ge $end) return $record/process-record(.) I can imagine why this is more efficient. in BaseX, than using an XPath filter expression, as in $recordSet[position() ge $start and position() le $end]/process-record(.) (which is what I might prefer to do in other environments). But is the 'where' clause the best I can do? XQuery 3.0 has tumbling windows. I am not iterating over subsequences, but rather selecting one (arbitrary) subsequence from a sequence. What's my best approach to this in BaseX? Analyze-string unsupported?

Hey, I am trying to use analyze-string. more than one instance

Hi, I'm currently using BaseX as standard server (java) mode but I planning to switch http://nxdb.codeplex.com/ . (Embedded BaseX port in .Net) My application running as IIS process which has multiple instances and threads. My question is; is there any possible problems to access database at same time by different process/threads ? How do I use "archive:update" to add a new binary file to an existing archive?

Hello, unfortunately I do not get the archive:update function to work... I am using BaseX 7.6. Your sample to update text in a Word 2010 document works fine. Creating a new archive and extracting from an archive works fine too. When I try to update an existing archive with a new image file I get the error "element(archive:entry) or string expected, element() found. I have modified your Word sample query as follows: declare variable $input := "input.zip"; declare variable $output := "output.zip"; declare variable $doc := "Image.png"; declare variable $img := "new_image_in_file_system.png"; let $archive := file:read-binary($input) let $entry := file:read-binary($img) let $updated := archive:update($archive, <entry>{$doc}</entry>, $entry) return file:write-binary($output, $updated) Thank you very much for your help. BaseX update persistence

When running BaseX as a server and connecting to it my update statements are successful but when using BaseX from a jar inside the JVM - Database creation works fine - the update statements don't get committed - not visible to other clients or after restart - to the database. Select queries work fine.
