web:forward with absolute URL

Hello, BaseX team, I have found recently, that the web:forward function (in both BaseX 12.1 and 12.4, have not checked with older versions), when called with an absolute URL, triggers an error in jetty (see below). Syntax error in variable declarations using URIQualifiedName

Hello, The query: let $Q{}foo:=1 return $Q{}foo produces a syntax error, unless it is amended to: let $Q{}foo :=1 return $Q{}foo (i.e. space inserted before the colon.) This first occurs with BaseX 12.1 and with earlier versions did not produce a syntax error. For comparison, this syntax error is not observed under Saxon XQuery 12.9 or 13.0, or (with Saxon or BaseX) if the variable is a QName instead. Many thanks, Andrew

Limit db:get() calls with fuzzy search and XForms

Hello, I'm creating forms using XForms and BaseX. For some of them, I need to use a lot of data, so I've set up a search form that loads an XForms instance at every change in the field, from an internal link like this: /xml/persons/search?query=[search field content]. BaseX responds with RESTXQ: declare %rest:path('/xml/persons/search') %rest:produces('application/xml') %rest:query-param('query', '{$query}') function searchPersons($query){ <persons> db:get(myBase)//*:persons[ . contains text {fn:lower-case($query)} using fuzzy] </persons> }; Although I only enable searches with 3 characters or more, each change to the search field creates a new call to db:get(), which, if I understand correctly, is not recommended. Could using a variable in the RESTXQ file solve this problem ? Something like : declare variable $project:allPersons := db:get(myBase)//*:persons and then only using this new var ? Exception from mistake in fn:replace

I'm reporting an exception I saw in BaseX 12.4 in a function call where the fn:replace function refers to $1 in the third argument without having any parenthesized expressions in the second argument. The function call has a mistake, but I'm assuming BaseX should respond differently. replace('full stop.','\.','\\$1') Could not execute XQUERY replace('full stop.','\.','\\$1'): Improper use? XSLT Module, how to specify XSLT's Initial Template name

Hello, I am using BaseX 12.4 and its XSLT Module. The XSLT engine is SaxonHE13-0J, so the XSLT 3.0 standard could be used! My XSLT needs to process XML files in a directory on the file system. The XSLT is implementing a so called Modified Identity Transform pattern. Unfortunately, it seems it is impossible to pass "-it", i.e. Initial Template name parameter. I tried 2 lines XQuery as follows: XQuery ========== declare variable $stylesheet as xs:string external; xslt:transform("<dummy/>", $stylesheet, { "-it": "xsl:initial-template" }) The XSLT is using an Initial Template <xsl:template name="xsl:initial-template"> So, I tried to pass it in BaseX as a parameter to no avail. The XSLT is working properly in Oxygen XML IDE when the "-it" parameter is specified. Please see below a full repro. unicode characters missing in the output

Hi, I'm trying to figure out a character display issue when using basex. I have a document originally created by using a unicode font called fedorovsk.otf (https://sci.ponomar.net/fonts.html) When I open the file inside a text editor, I can see all characters and ligatures (since the font is installed on the system), and it also works in the browser when using the font with @font-face. When I load the document with basex (either by the specifying the path or after indexing it), ir returns the word with certain characters missing. You can see the difference here : https://gprt.fr/unicode/test.html Apparently, the codes for the first entity are &#57710 or  When adding those codes to the XML document, they disappear in the output. Do you have any idea on what's going on and how to fix it? Regards Guillaume

I hope this helps. ### schnipp (: Reproducer for BaseX bug: NPE in Single.has() via Step.get() Affected versions: 12.2, 12.3, 12.4 Not affected: 12.0, 12.1 Required conditions (all three necessary): 1. .[] step — Path.get() converts Filter(ContextValue, preds) to Step.get(SELF, preds) 2. compound `and` predicate — creates an Arr containing the FuncRef 3. imported module function as an operand — unresolved at parse time -> FuncRef(expr=null) FuncRef extends Single but has no has() override -> Single.has() NPEs on null expr Fix: add has() override to FuncRef inner class in StaticFuncs.java (analogous to accept()): @Override public boolean has(final Flag... flags) { return expr != null && expr.has(flags); } :) import module namespace functx = "http://www.functx.com"; <a/>/.[true() and functx:all-whitespace('')] ### schnapp Best regards, Andreas
