BaseX6.5 - how to add documents into collection over wire (probably using ADD command)

Hi I need to insert documents into BaseX collection. As data are not always available directly as files and as sometime my server is remote to me, I need a method to add documents remotely. With older BaseX (I think BaseX 6.4) I was able to use add commend in the way add as doc1 <root/> This works now. But I am unable to insert anything, what has any attribute in this manner add as doc1 <root att="att"/> This keeps complaining and prints back help on the console. I am using basexclient.bat and Python API. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any advice. Jan

Hi all, following the documentation on http://docs.basex.org/wiki/Update the instruction of: replace value of node /doc with <new-element/> on db: <doc> <node/> </doc> should result in: <doc> <new-element/> </doc> but the result is: <doc/>

data corruption

Hello, Unfortunately I am unable to use BaseX (6.5) as I keep getting data corruption. I run BaseX on a dedicated server. The xml-datafiles I insert into the database have the following layout: <EEGData bla="x" > <signal name="x"> <timeslot start="2008-07-24T14:22:16">-53.2942688282 -37.5091841347 -35.6337285276 (many more values)</timeslot>  </signal>  </EEGData> Running "list" on the client returns the following: Name Documents Size Path ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------ fullxml 3789 522153128560 /path/to/xml This database was created by running the command: java -cp basex.jar org.basex.BaseXClient -c "create db fullxml /path/to/xml/files/" The problems start when I execute the "list fullxml" command, this returns: > list fullxml Possible bug? I even dropped the entire database and recreated it, with the same problem on the same file(s). It seems that after a certain amount of data, the database gets corrupted; all documents inserted after this point contain garbage. Hi I already found the reason - I was having new version in my system, but still running previous version as a service. After restarting the service with new version of jar all works well. Hi Using basex6.5.1.2791 beta I am trying to create database. Via BaseX GUI the command "create database test" works well. However, using basexclient it does nothing, resp. it does stop responding and I have to cancel the client. -- *Ing. searching against base-uri

When I search against lyrics in my song database using "contains text", text is found where ever the input string is found, even if the string is simply part of a word. So "wor" would find "word". If I search with base-uri($song)[ . contains text "wor"] the results are interesting. Say I have the following files in my database: c:\song\music in the air c:\songs1\songbird review c:\songs2\songbird cafe c:\lyrics\songbirds singing c:\Songs3\I like to sing c:\Songs4\Songs worth singing searching with base-uri($song)[ . contains text "song"] will return: c:\song\music in the air c:\songs1\songbird review c:\songs2\songbird cafe c:\lyrics\songbirds singing c:\songs4\Songs worth singing searching with base-uri($song)[ . contains text "songs"] will return: c:\songs4\Songs worth singing My conclusion is that after the last slash (and in the database, of course, they are forward slashes) the string can be found as a substring but before the last slash, the string must be found as that whole section of the path (I've tried this with multi-word path sections and the entire path section must be specified or that node is not selected.) This is not particularly troubling, but I'd like to confirm that the behavior is expected. It would appear that the indexing is different for these file system path sections than for the actual file name at the end of the path (which appears to be indexed like all the other text). Can someone confirm this? Thanks!
