Where are the basex branches and tags available for anonymous checkout?

Hi, Only the trunk appears to have been made available for anonymous checkout. What if I want to checkout/export and build an earlier revision (e.g., 6.2.8), especially in case where trunk builds for one/more of sub-projects (basex-api, basex-examples) are broken?

basex-api from trunk fails to build

Hi, The basex-api has dependencies for basex.jar version 6.3 and basex-api.jar version 6.3, but these are not available. So the project fails to build. What is the workaround?

basex-examples sub-project fails to build - explicit java source version not declared in pom.xml

Hi, The basex-examples sub-project fails to build because the default for maven 2 (I think) is java 1.3, but java 5 features are being used in this project. pom.xml needs to have a source level declaration for java 5. How can one gain commit rights to this project? -M

Using the REST interface

Hi, I am using Maven to get basex.jar and basex-api.jar and then trying to integrate them with Jetty on the lines of how it is done in the zip file available at http://www.inf.uni-konstanz.de/dbis/basex/download/BaseX61-api.zip - the reason I am doing it in my own Maven build is because 6.1 is not the latest version of basex, but the bundled distribution including Jetty is not available for a later version. I have not tested the bundled distribution (Jetty bundled for access using REST). I am not able to get this to work however - all I get is internal server when I attempt anything other than get application.wadl - e.g., I cannot PUT successfully using the guidelines at http://www.inf.uni-konstanz.de/dbis/basex/rest. I had a cursory look at the java code and could not immediately figure out how Jetty is connecting to the Basex server instance in the StartJaxRx.java or StartJetty.java - to me it merely appears to start the two servers. I will later attempt to use the bundled .zip file available for download, although that is for an earlier version.

Problem with basex:eval

Hi there, I am using basex 6.2.7 (gui version) from the maven repo. Using eval (see below) gives me: Fehler: [XPST0017] Unknown function "local:name1(...)". If I call local:name1() directly, it works. Running the same script with Saxon (using saxon:evaluate) works, too. declare function local:name1() { let $msg := "hello from name1" return <msg>{$msg}</msg> }; declare function local:dispatch($e as element()) { let $func := local-name($e) let $res := basex:eval(concat("local:", $func, "()")) return $res }; let $elem := <name1>bla</name1> (: return local:name1() :) return local:dispatch($elem) Regards, Max

Thank your dear Michael, for your reply. Sorry, I missed a context for my request : When do you plan to include XSLT support in XQUERY ? meaningless numbers print out to std out

When running basex in XQJ mode and using copy... modify..., some numeric sequences are print out to std.out in the eclipse debug console, e.g.:0 / 0 1 / 0 ...

BaseXClient.java ignores EOF from server

BaseXClient.receive ignores EOF if the connection is severed: /** * Receives a string and writes it to the specified output stream. * @param o output stream * @throws IOException I/O exception */ private void receive(final OutputStream o) throws IOException { while(true) { final int b = in.read(); if(b == 0) break; o.write(b); } } The result is an out of memory error because you're trying to stuff infinitely many -1 values into the ByteArrayOutputStream backing o. - Godmar

Using the options

Hi, from the FAQ ( http://www.inf.uni-konstanz.de/dbis/basex/faq#5.4 ), I read that there are several options available. However, I could not figure out how to set those options from jax-rx or any other client than Java (I found in Java there's something like CONTEXT.props("key", "value") ). Regards, Max
