Hi, I want to score searches with multiple conditions e.g. let $data:=( <r><a>red apple</a></r>, <r><a>blue lagoon</a></r>, <r><b>fish and chips</b></r>) for $hit score $s in $data[ a contains text("red") or b contains text("fish")] return $s In 7.8.2 it always returns scores of zero. In version 7.6 it returns numbers like 0.6201145069582775 0.4528324252639413 Is this bug? Regards /Andy

Dear Team We are adding the 4gb xml file to the collection,while adding the file we are getting the out of main memory.My java application has the 4gb memory.Can you please help me on this.We are using the LocalSession for creating the collection. small issue with map:put()

Is this an inlining/query compilation issue?

Hi, I found that with the following code the trace shows that, for the two functions (FN) created, both have gotten "ul" inlined. QueryProcessor's result has 'restructured ns declarations'

Hi all, I have this file (simplified): <r:root xmlns:r="r" xmlns:x="x" xmlns:y="y" xmlns:z="z"> <x:x/> <y:y/> <z:z/> </r:root> I have created a new database from that file (using Java API) and checked in the GUI that the file's contents are as "expected" by querying the root of the database. Now, when using the QueryProcessor API to query the root of the database, I will get this re-structured namespaces xml: <r:root xmlns:r="r"> <x:x xmlns:x="x"/> <y:y xmlns:y="y"/> <z:z xmlns:z="z"/> </r:root> How can I prevent this behavior? Is there a setting to provide to the QueryProcessor? Thanks!

SAXSerializer does not transmit namespace declarations as attributes

Hi all, I am using the SAXSerializer to generate SAX events from an org.basex.query.value.item.Item instance. The Item instance represents the database doc's root in this specific case: <r:root xmlns:r="r" xmlns:x="x" x:attr="test"> </r:root> It seems that when the following method is called: org.xml.sax.ContentHandler.startElement(String, String, String, Attributes) the attributes map is missing namespace declarations (I would expect the ns declarations to be mapped to attributes). I.e. the above r:root element will be provided with just the x:attr in the attributes map, but not the xmlns:x as attribute. Do you have any solutions for this issue? How do I get the namespaces when startElement() is executed? Thanks!

Why would I get a bxerr:BXDB0007 error "Database 'profiles' cannot be updated, as it is opened by another process" when executing these commands from a BaseX client: open profiles; xquery insert node <profile>abc</profile> into /profiles Where "profiles" is an existing database, and /profiles an existing root element, and I am quite positive that the database is NOT being used in another process? When I issue these commands on localhost it is working fine. Paul

IDs management

Hello all, I would like to ask your advice on the best practice to use the IDs in BaseX, somewhat in the classic style of relationships between records in different nodes or documents. I have not found a simple way to create autoincrement IDs, and indexes generated by BaseX I understand that it's possible to suffer changes in case of optimization actions or database recovery. So I can not count on them. I try to do it using attributes as unique identifiers in repetitive elements, like: <products> . . . <product id="123" name="abc" description="xyz"/> <product id="124" name="bbbb" description="xxxxxxx"/> </products> <product-template> <product id="" name="" description="" ... /> </product-template> When adding a new product, I need to calculate the max from products/product/@id, incremented by 1 and replaced with this value (125) the id of the product template. After that, the updated product template should be inserted in the node products. I try to do all this in a single restxq function, in many ways, but fail. Please give me, first, an general idea of how the problem should be approached in working with BaseX. Many thanks, Ioan
