May 26th snapshot and very slow batch processing

Hi, I updated to the May 26th snapshot and one batch process that used to take 45 seconds now takes more than 25 minutes to run. A couple of months ago we had that issue, we were asked if we were updating files that use namespaces... and then that lead to a new snapshot. I never got the details of the issue, but this has a very familiar feel. apply variable bindings to command scripts

Dear all, Currently, in order to obtain tailored command scripts, I found the following solution : A template test.bxs file : <commands> <open name='${DBNAME}'/> <xquery> <![CDATA[ (/document)[1] ]]> </xquery> <close/> </commands> A bash script test.sh: #!/bin/bash DBNAME=de-dpma-u-meta eval "cat <<EOF $(<$1) EOF " | basex -c- And then call : ./test.sh test.bxs Could it be possible for the variable bindings to be applied also to script commands, So basex -bDBNAME=de-dpma-u-meta test.bxs does the whole job ? that would work also for commands' sequences like : <set option='bindings'>..... <execute> or <run> Merci ! Error handling

Hello all, the error interception functions are pretty useful. My "feature request" here is whether it could be possible to overcome: "XQuery runtime errors can be processed via /error annotations/. A single argument must be supplied, which represents the QName of the error to be caught. A wildcard |*| may be specified to catch all possible errors. A function can only have a single error annotation:" It could be useful to have at least a second level of wildcards on the QName prefix in order to be able to differentiate behaviours according to categories of errors. |%rest:error||(||"ns1:*"||)| A more fine grained filtering (i.e. comma separated list of exception codes) could also be useful but since I don't understand the difficulty of building this into the code I won't ask too much. The only alternative I see at the moment is a single function with a switch or a lot of replicated functions. What is your opinion on this? Thanks and regards, Marco.

ArrayOutofBound exception on snapshot

Hello all, we are investigating on the latest snapshot in order to check how our code cleans up itself when reducing the overhead of the "updating" code by using MIXED UPDATES. We started experiencing the Index out of bound Exception on a particular insert of a complex XML document. I worked heavily on reducing the document to the smallest example that causes the exception getting to this: <a b="1" c="2" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> <b> <item x="1" w="2"/> </b> <n value="1" xsi:type="xs:string"/> <n value="2" xsi:type="xs:string"/> </a> Any change that reduces the XML causes the db:add to work. When inserting directly with db:add it works. When putting the same db:add in a restxq it still works. When passing the XML as postbody and putting the $postbody parameter in the db:add the exception occurs. declare %rest:path("test1") %rest:POST("{$postbody}") %rest:consumes("application/xml") function page:upd($postbody) { db:add("accountingrlus", document { $postbody } , "coll1/coll2/doc1.xml") }; The error is not very explanatory since the -d output looks just like this: MIXUPDATES: true Improper use? Words beginning with diacritics sorted oddly

When I apply "order by" on these, the diacritic led words are sorted at the bottom instead of in their non-diacritic letter place. I could use fn:normalize-unicode but I was wondering what a "normal" sort order would be. multi-core performance of BaseX

Greetings all, I was wondering if anyone has some information about BaseX multi-core performance. Does BaseX utilize multi-core architecture to parallel-process the Xqueries? Cheers, R

Set DBPATH

Dear Team How to change or set the dbpath while creating the collection.Earlier we are able set in 6.7 versions now in latest version we are not able to set.This is in java.Setting the dbpath is recommended in my requirement.Please do the needfull. How to run several commands in one post

Dear BaseX people I'd like to run several commands in a single post. Example: OPEN TEST CREATE INDEX ATTRIBUTE CREATE INDEX TEXT CREATE INDEX FULLTEXT OPTIMIZE ALL CLOSE My request is: <command> <text> the commands above </text> </command> But it seems this cannot be done. I get the error: Stopped at ., 1/10: Syntax: OPEN [name] ([path]) Open database. Opens the database [name], filtered by [path].
