Running test2.xq triggers runtime-error, see attachment: basex errorMessage.txt When using: declare function local:go ( $parentItem ) { ( $parentItem , for-each( $parentItem/child::* , function( $childItem ) { local:go( $childItem) } ) ) } ; All runs fine. What is simplest way to make the same function available in two xqm modules?

Greetings, I have two xqm files (located in webapp folder) and would like to define a function that could be used in both of them. What would be the most simple approach? For example is it possible to call is it possible to call a function defined in one xqm file from another? TIA Best regards Michel

Problem when using insert or replace

Hi all, I am new with BaseX, and I'm trying to learn how to insert and replace nodes in my xml database, but when I run a script, the Result window don't show any changes. If I export the DB, nothing seems to be updated. But the Query Info don't show any error. The scripts I'm using are: To insert: insert node <titular nif="73890234K"> <nombre>Pobre Cico, Daniel</nombre> <domicilio>C/Del Esmirriao, 23-1</domicilio> <codigo_postal>46900</codigo_postal> <poblacion>Benimacarrón</poblacion> <provincia>Valencia</provincia> </titular> as first into doc("titulares.xml")//titulares To replace: replace value of node doc("titulares.xml")//titulares/titular[@nif="83709245Y"]/codigo_pos tal with "46999" The Query Info shows: Result: - Hit(s): 0 Items - Updated: 3 Items - Printed: 0 Bytes - Read Locking: none - Write Locking: global My xml DB is: <titulares> <titular nif="83709245Y"> <nombre>Rica Chon, Esteban</nombre> <domicilio>Avda. de la Plata, 32</domicilio> <codigo_postal>46023</codigo_postal> <poblacion>Valencia</poblacion> <provincia>Valencia</provincia> </titular> <titular nif="83845902R"> <nombre>Forrao Bucho, Joaquín</nombre> <domicilio>Plaza del Oro, 45</domicilio> <codigo_postal>44000</codigo_postal> <poblacion>La Mina</poblacion> <provincia>Albacete</provincia> </titular> etc. Any help will be very appreciated. basex 782 war exception

Deploying a BaseX Web application... (beginner question)

Hello, Thanks to the developers for the excellent database software. I love basex having used it on windows desktop for some little database-driven projects, but now, I'd like to deploy it in the context of a web application, if possible. So I read everything I could find about the topic but didn't find a step-by-step guide of how to accomplish it. I'm not familiar with java, but I tried to deploy the downloadable BaseX war application on Appfog services, and also using Openshift with Tomcat 7. On Appfog, the process of installing the war file (which seemed to be straightforward) didn't complete and generated a java console error. (cf http://stackoverflow.com/questions/12283448/deploy-simple-java-web-applicat…) And on OpenShift, the process of uploading the war file succeeded, the console stating that the build was successful, but when going to the URL of the application, the server generates an internal error HTTP status 500... (cf https://www.openshift.com/kb/kb-e1088-how-to-deploy-pre-compiled-java-appli…) From there, I don't know what to do next, but would really like to get a basex web app up and running and interacting with it through the HTTP REST API. empty() behaves differently on 7.8.2

Hello all, I'm pretty puzzled by the following fact. On version 7.8 the following code returns true() (which btw is what I expect to be right) let $a := () return empty($a) whereas in 7.8.2 it returns false(). Any advice? Thanks, M.
